Stallions 7, Stars 3
COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) _ Birmingham running back Joe Cribbs took a pitchout from quarterback Cliff Stoudt and raced 10 yards for a third-period touchdown, giving the Stallions a 7-3 victory over the Baltimore Stars Sunday in the United States Football League.
The victory, which left Birmingham 4-1, was the first for the Stallions in five meetings with the defending USFL champions. Baltimore’s only score, a 21- yard field goal by David Trout, came at the start of the second half after a 62-yard drive stalled at the Stallions’ 4-yard line.
The Stars, 1-3-1, played most of the game without leading runner Kelvin Bryant, who suffered a pulled hamstring on a 7-yard carry with 4:38 to play in the first period.
