Flynt Accused of Intimidation
CINCINNATI (AP) _ Prosecutors are seeking a judge’s order to prevent Larry Flynt from intimidating a key 14-year-old witness in his obscenity case.
The request last week came after a man claiming to represent Flynt allegedly tried to bribe the boy.
Prosecutors say the boy bought pornography at Flynt’s Hustler store. The boy is expected to testify in the January trial of Flynt and his brother, Jimmy.
Howard Beatty faces trial later this month on charges he offered the boy $50,000 to change his story. The Flynts have denied any involvement with Beatty and said they were set up by police who sent the underage boy into the store.
A hearing on the prosecution’s request is scheduled for Oct. 20.
