TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Cordell Love scored 22 points, including six 3-pointers, to help open Tulsa’s season Saturday with a 100-51 win over North Carolina A&T.

Love nailed a 3-pointer one minute into the game and later combined with Shea Seals to take the Golden Hurricane (1-0) on a 12-point scoring run. A&T (1-2) quickly fell behind Tulsa’s quick pace and trailed by 28 points at the half.

With steady scoring, another 14-point run in the second half and Jason Williams’ 3-point shot from 55 feet out, A&T never had a chance to catch up.

Missed shots and the Hurricane defense hampered the Aggies throughout the game.

Tarik Beasley’s 3-pointer at 14:28 in the first half put A&T within two at 12-10. Beasley had another 3-point shot in the second half, and Clarence Breazeale and Torry Tucker each added another.

But the Aggies had trouble sinking shots inside and out. A&T also hit only nine of 25 free throws. Beasley finished with 14 points.

Seals gave Tulsa 20 points and Dewayne Bonner had 17.

Seals hit two consecutive 3-pointers midway through the first half and Love added another to give Tulsa its first run. A&T answered 3 1/2 minutes later when Derick Powell hit on the inside.

North Carolina A&T was already trailing by 38 points when Tulsa went on a 14-point run in the final six minutes of the game.
