August 10, 2018

Lowell Sun

It’s Friday, Aug. 10, 2018. Here is some of what Sun staffers and other news providers are working on for lowellsun.com and this weekend’s editions:

Rick Sobey, rsobey@lowellsun.com, is reporting from Lowell about negotiations between the city and developer Sal Lupoli. Lupoli wants a left-hand turn onto Thorndike Street from his residential/commercial project next to the Gallagher Terminal. The city, however, is concerned about safety, noting Thorndike Street is already overburdened.

Chris Lisinski, clisinski@lowellsun.com, is looking at the few ads that have hit the airwaves in the 3rd Congressional District race, and which candidates may be able reach TV viewers.

Tom McLaren, well known in the Wilmington area, was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident last week. The community is rallying for him and his family. Kori Tuitt, ktuitt@lowellsun.com. is reporting this story.a
