Police: Milford man ‘carelessly and negligently’ fired gun

April 16, 2019

MILFORD — A city man accused of “carelessly and negligently” firing a gun in his home earlier this year was charged by police on Sunday.

Jorge Diaz, 63, of Alberta Jagoe Court in Milford, was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant, charging him with unlawful discharge of a firearm and reckless endangerment.

His arrest stemmed from him “carelessly and negligently discharging his firearm, while inside his residence” on Feb. 24, police said.

Diaz fired a gun from his second floor bedroom, police said. The man’s roommate called police, who found that the bullet went through two walls and was found lodged in Diaz’s roommate’s first floor bedroom wall.

Diaz was released on a promise to appear in court. His court date was set for May 7.
