Police: Fight in food court led to gunshots outside mall
A fight in the Santa Fe Place mall late Monday night escalated into gunshots being fired outside, Santa Fe police said.
The shooting was reported to police at around 9 p.m., according to a preliminary police report. No one was injured and there was no damage to the property, the report said.
According to police who reviewed mall security surveillance footage, two males had fought in the food court. They then went outside the mall and shots were fired, the report said.
Police recovered three spent bullet casings at the scene: two 9 mm casings and one .380 casing, according to the report.
Police spokesman Greg Gurulé said investigators have information about a possible suspect and vehicle, but they were not releasing those details publicly on Tuesday.
