Man indicted in crash that seriously injured man and toddler
GILFORD, N.H. (AP) — A grand jury has indicted a Laconia man more than a year after authorities say he caused a head-on crash that seriously injured a man and his toddler.
WMUR-TV reports that James Willingham is charged with three counts of assault and three counts of aggravated DWI.
Police say Willingham had drugs in his system, including methamphetamines, at the time of the crash on Jan. 2, 2017.
The crash caused a brain injury to the toddler who was in a coma for two weeks. The girl has recovered.
The injured man, Brent Stranger, also suffered a brain injury and is unable to walk or speak. He is currently in a rehabilitation facility in Boston.
It was not immediately known if Willingham is being represented by an attorney.
