Brunswick water polo wins a pair
Following a two-goal victory over neighborhood rival Greenwich High School on Friday, the Brunswick School water polo team topped Williston-Northampton and Deerfield Academy on Saturday in convincing fashion.
The host Bruins recorded a 17-5 win over Williston-Northampton and upended Deerfield, 19-3, before their home crowd. Against Williston-Northampton, Brunswick received scoring from 10 different players and went into halftime with a 10-4 lead.
Dillon Robinson paced the Bruins with four goals, while Ned Camel had a hat trick. Will Prout tallied twice, as did Tate Robinson for the victors. Luke Apostolides, Will Martin, Vilas Srikrishnan, Ivey Gehring, Robert Jacobson and Michael O’Malley each had one goal in the win.
Hayden Collins made four saves in the winning effort.
In the Bruins’ victory over Deerfield, Apostolides and Drew Keegan each lit the scoreboard five times, while JP OHL each tallied twice. Brunswick received one goal each from Timmy Saunders, Kyle Yelensky, Danny Taylor, Gavin Molloy, Jack Moore, Camel and Tate Robinson. Goalie Christian Hartch made six saves for the Bruins (4-0).
Up next for the Bruins is a trip to California, where they will compete in the Coronado High School Invitational.
