Harris County to host Spring Fling Festival for seniors

Harris County Precinct 4 invites community member over 50 years old to enjoy an afternoon filled with activities and baked goods at the first annual Spring Fling Festival on March 27 at the Humble Civic Center Arena.

The festival will begin at noon and end at 3 p.m.

Jan Sexton, Precinct 4’s community centers and senior adults program director, said the Spring Fling will provide seniors an opportunity for social and community engagement while celebrating the change of season.

Live entertainment will be provided by The McMillan Family, a trio based out of Tennessee. There will also be crafts, carnival games, a petting zoo, balloon artists and a baking contest.

Information about upcoming senior adult programs events, activities, bus trips and volunteering opportunities will be provided as well.

James Coney Island will provide hot dogs with all the trimmings and ice cream. Popcorn and cotton candy will also be available.

Transportation will be provided for those seniors who need it and will be departing at 10:45 a.m.

“Commissioner Cagle is dedicated to enriching the lives of senior adults in Harris County Precinct 4 and the Spring Fling is just one of many events and activities that are offered for senior adults to meet new people and stay active,” Sexton said.
