KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Auburn already has NCAA Tournament wins over Kansas and North Carolina. Today, the fifth-seeded Tigers take aim at No. 2 seed Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament’s Midwest Region final in Kansas City. Auburn will be without Chuma Okeke, who tore his left ACL in the win over North Carolina on Friday night. The 6-foot-8 sophomore is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Two of college basketball’s most famed coaches go head to head today for a spot in the Final Four. Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski (shuh-SHEF’-skee) and Michigan State’s Tom Izzo (IH’-zoh) face off in the East regional final of the NCAA Tournament in Washington. Krzyzewski has 12 Final Four trips and five national titles. Izzo has seven Final Four appearances and a national championship since taking over at Michigan State in 1995.

ATLANTA (AP) — Giannis Antetokounmpo (YAH’-nihs an-teh-toh-KOON’-poh) is out for Milwaukee’s game today against the Atlanta Hawks because of a right ankle sprain. He aggravated the ankle injury after scoring 34 points in the Bucks’ 128-118 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday night. Meanwhile, the Hawks say center Dewayne Dedmon will miss the rest of the season with a left ankle injury.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police say a 47-year-old man has been hospitalized after an argument turned violent outside Dodger Stadium. Police say the man was punched once by another man and fell to the ground in a parking lot following the six-hour game last night against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Christel Reyna says her husband, Rafael Reyna, sustained a skull fracture and is on life support following the encounter.

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Jimmie Johnson is starting on the NASCAR Cup pole at Texas. He leads a starting field to the green flag for the first time since 2016, the season he won the last of his seven NASCAR Cup championships. Kyle Busch is going for a tripleheader weekend sweep. It’s the third time Busch is going into a Cup race at Texas after winning in the Xfinity and Trucks Series races on the same weekend..
