Eric Schmid to run for District 7 seat
Eric Schmid, 605 LaFayette St., has taken out papers to run for alderman for District 7 in the upcoming spring election on Tuesday, April 2, 2019.
Alderman Augie Tietz currently holds this position but because of term limits he is not eligible to seek re-election.
Schmid is a technician at Clasen Quality Chocolate and has been in the Army Reserve for over 12 years. This will be his first time running for office.
Cindia Cameron and Judith Cornell have also announced that they will be running for alderwomen for the 7th District.
With three people running, a primary election would be required on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019
Potential candidates running for alderman must submit nomination papers and get 20 to 40 signatures from eligible voters in the district they are running for by Wednesday at 5 p.m.
Districts 1, 3, 5 and 9 are also up for election.
