Cozad receives USDA economic development grant
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Department of Agriculture has announced that Cozad will receive a $300,000 grant from the Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant Program.
“This grant will have a significant impact on the residents of Cozad, as the community builds an industrial park to increase economic development in the city and surrounding area, U.S. Sen. Deb Fischer, a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, said in a press release. “The investment will help complete the groundwork for the project so that new businesses can build in this growing city.”
According to the press release, this project will assist with completing infrastructure development on an industrial park owned by Cozad Development Corp., extending water, sewer and a road to the site to further develop and construct buildings on the site for new businesses. Two companies currently are looking to locate on this site once prepared: a hotel and a beverage processor. This project will create eight jobs in the city of Cozad, which has a population of 3,977 people.
