SHS hosts Bearcat Cheer Clinic Jan. 26
SCOTTSBLUFF — Show your cheer spirit and learn a new cheer and dance during the eighth annual Bearcat Cheer Clinic on Saturday, Jan. 26.
Participants will spend over two hours learning a new cheer and dance with the assistance of Scottsbluff High School cheerleaders. The clinic runs from 8:15-11 a.m. in the high school auxiliary gym.
“My hope is that the participants have fun and get out of their comfort zone,” Hillary Bollish, cheer leading head coach, said. “I want them to experience a day in the life of a cheerleader, and hope that they love it.”
Following the clinic, the Scottsbluff High School cheerleaders and the cheer clinic participants will share their new routine with the public in attendance at the junior varsity basketball game at 12:30 p.m. Parents are invited to watch their child perform during the JV game.
“I, first of all, hope they have fun and hope they can learn some of the small cheer techniques like arm motions and cheer chants,” Sierra De Los Santos, Scottsbluff High School cheer captain, said. “It’s about the passion and love of cheer and just to show the little girls that you have fun with it and be a good role model to inspire them to want to do it as high schoolers or sooner.”
The cheer clinic is open to students in pre-kindergarten to fifth grade. To register for the cheer clinic, email Hillary Bollish at email@example.com. The cost is $25 to attend the clinic, which is paid at the door during check-in.
Pre-registration ends Jan. 16, which includes a camp T-shirt, a bow for their hair and a snack. While registration is open until the day of the event, participants registered after Jan. 16 will only receive a snack.
