University of Montana institute researching ADA
MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) — University of Montana researchers are working to find answers to questions from the region about the federal Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
The Missoulian reports the University of Montana Rural Institute for Inclusive Communities Executive Director Martin Blair says the institute also is helping law students at the university become sensitive to disability issues regardless of the type of law they practice.
Blair recently discussed research projects the institute recruited University of Montana law students to tackle as part of a collaboration with the Rocky Mountain ADA Technical Assistance Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The projects give students the chance to do professional work before they enter the workforce, and they also give them the opportunity to broaden the legal understanding of the ADA and disability policy.
