MONTPLIER, Vt. (AP) — The Vermont Department of Labor is teaming up with GlobalFoundries to help the company fill more than 50 available positions at the company's Essex Junction facility.

On Aug. 18 and 25 the department will host the company at each of its 12 career resource centers across the state. Anyone interested in applying for a job can get information about available job opportunities and help filling out an application.

GlobalFoundries, which makes computer chips, bought the facility from IBM two years ago. The company also is hosting a job fair with the labor department on Aug. 30 at the Double Tree hotel in south Burlington.

Successful new hires for the entry level positions will earn $14.50 an hour, plus health benefits and a retirement plan.
