USDA Rural Development Solid Waste Management Grant now available
OMAHA - State or local solid waste entities in Nebraska are encouraged to apply for the USDA Rural Development Solid Waste Management Grant.
Community Programs Specialist Mary Sneckenberg says up to $4 million is available nationwide with a $1 million individual project ceiling.
Sneckenberg says priority points may be awarded to innovative projects that promote the safe disposal of prescription drugs.
She says they were excited to see safe drug disposal added to the grant this year.
“They consider the disposal of prescription drugs to be part of an innovative project to make sure they’re safely disposed of in rural communities so we can safeguard the water resources. The grant will fund for community or regional areas to purchase and install prescription drug disposal sites.”
The application is available to fill out now until next Monday by going to Grants.Gov.
