Teenager found shot to death behind Long Island youth center
LAWRENCE, N.Y. (AP) — Police in Long Island say a teenager has been found fatally shot behind a youth center in Lawrence.
Authorities say they were called to the scene for reports of an unconscious man around 9 a.m. Tuesday. Responding officers say they arrived to find the teenager unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The unidentified teenager was pronounced dead shortly afterward by a responding medic.
Nassau County police officers and homicide detectives remained at the scene for several hours as they continued their investigation. Nassau police Detective Lt. Richard LeBrun says it’s an active homicide investigation.
No arrests have been reported.
