Stamford man enjoying own reflection charged with attempted burglary
STAMFORD — Police say a city man claimed to be checking out his reflection in a car window when he was confronted about trying to break into it.
Sgt. Brian Butler said the Courtland Circle resident called police around 7 a.m. Sunday when he saw a man peering into windows of his car.
The resident said he called 911 after the man ignored him when he asked what he was doing. The resident said the man continued to look inside the car and pulled on the door handle, Butler said.
Butler said the man then started banging on the resident’s door and tried to open it.
When police arrived, Butler said the man told officers he was looking so good he couldn’t stop staring at his reflection in the car windows.
Alphonse Kenkelly, 30, of Seaside Avenue, was charged with attempted burglary and criminal trespass.
