California man suspected in killing, but no body found
OJAI, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a 23-year-old Southern California man has been arrested on suspicion of killing his roommate, although no body has been found.
Ventura County sheriff’s officials say deputies acting on a tip visited the home near Ojai on Sunday and found “a bloody scene consistent with a homicide.”
Later that day deputies arrested Cameron Scott Lykins. Officials say detectives found evidence in Lykins’ pickup indicating that it been used to transport a body.
Investigators are still searching for the body of 22-year-old Houston Auer. They say Lykins is not cooperating with detectives.
The Ventura County Star reports Tuesday that Lykins could face charges including first-degree murder. It wasn’t known if he has an attorney.
