BAT (AP) _ Rookie Billy Joe Robidoux, Brewers, hit a pair of two-run homers to power Milwaukee to a 9-6 win over the Boston Red Sox.

PITCHING - Phil Niekro, Yankees, reached the 300-victory plateau by pitching New York to an 8-0 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. In the process, the 46-year-old Niekro became the oldest pitcher in baseball history to pitch a shutout.
