CONSTITUTIONAL CARRY-SOUTH DAKOTA

PIERRE, S.D. _ A Senate panel on Thursday advanced a measure that would allow people to carry concealed handguns without a permit in South Dakota. The Senate Judiciary Committee voted to send the bill to the full chamber. A similar proposal passed the Legislature in 2017 before being vetoed by former Gov. Dennis Daugaard, but supporters hope to find a friendlier reception from new Gov. Kristi Noem, who offered support for such a law during her campaign. By James Nord. SENT: 420 words, developing.
