Creighton and Omaha make it a 1-2-3 NCAA Tournament entry sweep for the state of Nebraska
The state of Nebraska had quite a presence during the start of the NCAA Tournament selection show Monday on ESPNU.
The first regional reveal — the Los Angeles Regional — included Omaha.
Creighton’s name popped up on the screen in the second regional — the Corvallis, Oregon, Regional.
The third bracket to be unveiled was Oklahoma City. Nebraska.
For now, Nebraska is a baseball state.
For the first time, all three Division I institutions will have a team in the same NCAA Tournament.
“I think it’s just fantastic. I think everybody knows this area is very solid in baseball, and I think it’s just awesome for getting kids excited about baseball and the programs in this state,” Nebraska coach Darin Erstad said Monday. “Nothing but good can come out of that.”
