Univ. of Idaho ranked #1 college in Idaho

October 8, 2018

University of Idaho was ranked the best 4-year university in Idaho by Schools.com, according to a press release on Monday. This is the second year in a row the university received this recognition, according to Schools.com PR outreach coordinator Brad Bennion.

The schools were evaluated on a 100-point scale using 13 different criteria, and Bennion emphasized that the organization aims to look at the full picture of the school, not just factors such as tuiton or financial aid.

“We look at student-faculty ratio, availability of online programs, daycare programs and other programs that allow for flexibility, graduation rate,” Bennion said. “We really try to look at the overall picture of what the school is like, what is the best all-around school that’s available.”

Bennion noted that University of Idaho’s availability of online programs made it particularly attractive for prospective students.

“We appreciate the recognition of the University of Idaho’s value proposition – an outstanding research university education at an affordable price,” said Univesity of Idaho President Chuck Staben in a statement. “Whether on our residential campus in Moscow, at one of our statewide locations or online, we’re proud to offer a life-changing educational experience to students from Idaho and elsewhere.”
