Stamford PD: Stolen Yorkshire Terrier returned
STAMFORD — Harlem, a Yorkshire Terrier stolen while tied up outside a city Stop & Shop on Wednesday, was returned by the woman who took him, police Capt. Tom Barcello said.
The 15-pound dog was returned late Friday afternoon. The details of the incident are still being sorted out, but police said they expect to charge the woman who took Harlem with larceny.
Barcello said the dog was returned to a family member earlier Friday evening since the dog’s owner, Roshaun Henry, is out of town.
Henry, 27, of Alvord Lane in Stamford, covered her neighborhood with fliers earlier in the week, begging for the return of her 2-year-old Yorkie.
She had tied Harlem up outside the Stop & Shop on Stamford’s West Side on Wednesday to buy some dog food and chicken. When she returned about 10 minutes later, her dog was gone.
