November 10, 2018

State Rep. Carl Walker Metzgar and Sen. Pat Stefano will host a complimentary breakfast for veterans at 8 a.m. Friday at the Samuel S. Crouse American Legion Post No. 181, 162 Main St., Somerset.

“We owe these brave men and women a debt of gratitude for their commitment to defend our country,” Metzgar, R-Somerset Township, said in a press release. “It is my privilege to join Sen. Stefano to host this breakfast event.”

This year’s guest speaker will be retired U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Robert “Hank” Sembower Jr., who served the nation and the commonwealth for 37 years. His awards and honors include the Legion of Merit, three Meritorious Service medals, the Pennsylvania Distinguished Service medal and the NATO Medal. His last duty assignment was commander of the 55th Brigade Combat Team, 28th Infantry Division Mechanized, headquartered in Scranton.

“This is a great opportunity to personally thank our dedicated veterans for their service and the sacrifices they have made for our country,” Stefano, R-Bullskin Township, said.

The breakfast is free for all veterans. Those planning to attend must register by calling Stefano’s office at 814-443-2053 or Metzgar’s office at 814-443-4230.
