Biologist to lecture about world’s fastest animals
AMHERST, Mass. (AP) — Ever wonder what creatures are included among the fastest in the world?
A biologist from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst will soon give a public talk about it.
The lecture from Sheila Patek will be part of a series designed to bring conversations about science to an audience outside the university.
The event is being organized by UMass-Amherst graduate students and will be held on the evening of April 15th at Esselon Cafe in Hadley, Mass.
Patek is a professor at the school who has researched what creatures can strike the fastest.
Besides the mechanics of animal movement, her lab also explores animal sound production in the sea.
