June 27, 2019

MERRIMACK, N.H. (AP) — A New Hampshire man has been accused of leaving his dog inside a vehicle in temperatures that reached over 106 degrees.

The Nashua Telegraph reports 67-year-old Wesley Golomb, of Deerfield, faces a misdemeanor animal cruelty charge. Police on Wednesday responded to the parking lot at the Merrimack Premium Outlets and found the Labrador mix panting in the rear passenger area. The vehicle’s windows were slightly open, but police got a high temperature reading.

Golomb returned to the vehicle and told police he was in the mall for only a short period of time. Police said about 40 minutes had passed after they were initially notified.

Golomb is scheduled to appear in court on July 23. It wasn’t immediately known if he had a lawyer. A message was left at a possible phone number.
