Velazquez Paintings On Display

ROME (AP) _ More than 30 paintings by Spanish baroque master Diego de Velazquez will be on display in Rome starting Friday.

The exhibition at Palazzo Ruspoli, featuring works from museums around the world, includes such masterpieces as ``Mars″ and ``Self-portrait.″

Velazquez spent a total of four years in Rome during two visits _ in 1629 and 1649. Images from the city appear in many of his works.

``Velazquez, His Third Voyage in Italy″ runs through June 30 and is open to the public daily.
