NEW YORK (AP) _ Stock prices are higher in moderate trading. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 30 points in today’s early going. Gainers on the New York Stock Exchange hold a 2-1 lead over losers.

The Nasdaq Composite Index has gained nearly eight points and the Standard & Poor’s 500 Stock Index is ahead three points.

Wall Street stocks are on the rise, after Tokyo share prices recovered from yesterday’s stumble.

The Nikkei Stock Average was up nearly three percent today, even as Hong Kong’s main stock index fell for the third straight day.
