Broadhurst, Clarke Lead Europe TPC
ALVESLOHE, Germany (AP) _ England’s Paul Broadhurst and Northern Ireland’s Darren Clarke shared the third-round lead of the TPC of Europe on Sunday, with players enjoying record-low scores on a windless sunny day.
The two players led by one stroke at 18-under 198 at the $1.9 million event, one shot ahead of Masters champion Mark O’Meara and England’s Lee Westwood, who broke the course record with nine birdies and an eagle for an 11-under 61.
``I saw some great scores out there,″ O’Meara said. ``The course isn’t that easy. People are just playing well.″
O’Meara, playing his first tournament in Europe since winning his green jacket in Augusta, fired a 63, along with Sweden’s Joakim Haeggman. Ian Woosnam finished with a 64.
