Tennessee man accused of removing shell casings from scene
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A Tennessee man has been charged with tampering with evidence stemming from a fatal shooting last week.
News outlets report 29-year-old Jackie Dewayne Davis was arrested Thursday.
Clarksville Police spokesman Jim Knoll says police arrived at the Dragons Motorcycle Club on Wednesday to find a large crowd leaving the parking lot. Police found 26-year-old Eric Hardy with gunshot wounds in the lot. He later died from his injures at the hospital. A second victim was taken to the hospital and on Friday was in stable condition.
Knoll says surveillance footage shows Davis picking items off the ground and removing them from the scene. Knoll was quoted as saying the items were presumably shell casings.
The investigation is ongoing. There was no confirmed suspect description as of Thursday.
