PSU Scranton Raises Record-breaking Amount For THON

Students, faculty and staff at Penn State Scranton in Dunmore gathered Thursday in the View Café to send off its three THON dancers — Dana Beecroft, Alex Squatrito and Katie Walsh, who are going to University Park to dance in the IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, commonly known as THON, at the Bryce Jordan Center. The trio will be accompanied by about 70 faculty, staff and students to support them as they dance for 46 hours straight to raise money for children fighting pediatric cancer. During Thursday’s send-off, campus THON organizers announced their record-breaking fundraising total of $39,982.52. This breaks last year’s record of more than $29,000.
