Bomb Threat Called In To Globe Store Building, Law Office, Appears To Be False Alarm, Chief Says

November 6, 2018

SCRANTON — A bomb threat called in this morning to the former Globe store and a Scranton law office appears to be a false alarm, Police Chief Carl Graziano said. A call placed to the Lackawanna County 911 Center earlier this morning reported bombs at the Wyoming Avenue landmark and at Lenahan & Dempsey P.C. in the city’s downtown. Who placed that call remains part of the investigation, Graziano said. However, after a check, the chief said it appears that no devices were found and the call was a false alarm. The former Globe store is currently undergoing renovation as the future center of Lackawanna County government. — JOSEPH KOHUT
