Selectman to discuss combining parade committees, Seymour’s 175th anniversary celebration
SEYMOUR-The Board of Selectmen is expected to approve combining the separate Memorial Day and Christmas Parade committees into one during their meeting tonight at 7 in town hall.
Members of the two committees told the Selectmen last month they were being challenged by the lack of members attending meetings.
The town’s popular Christmas parade usually fills Main Street with spectators for nearly 50 years. It takes place on the last Sunday in November with a rain date of the first Sunday in December.
The Memorial Day parade takes place on the Sunday before Memorial Day.
Additionally the Selectmen will discuss plans for the 175th anniversary celebration of the founding of Seymour next year.
The Selectmen’s meetings are open to the public.
