Juniper Pharmaceuticals posts 4Q loss
BOSTON (AP) — Juniper Pharmaceuticals reported a wider loss of $2.1 million in its fourth quarter as it invested heavily to grow stronger in women’s health therapies.
The Boston company lost 19 cents per share, it said Thursday. Analysts had expected a loss of 2 cents per share, according to a survey by Zacks Investment Research.
A year earlier, it lost $494,000, or 5 cents per share, for the quarter.
Revenue rose 4 percent to of $7.6 million. That also was shy of expectations.
For the year, the company reported a loss of $2.13 million, or 20 cents per share, in contrast to a profit of $3.4 million, or 27 cents per share, a year ago. Revenue rose to $37.6 million from $32.5 million a year earlier.
Shares of Juniper Pharmaceuticals Inc. fell 2 cents to $7.59 in early trading. The stock is down less than a percentage point in the last 12 months.
