Nurses to attend hospital budget meeting amid contract talks
BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — Nurses employed at the University of Vermont Medical Center say they plan to attend a budget public hearing with the Green Mountain Care board.
The nurses’ union is currently locked in negotiations with the Burlington hospital over contracts. MyNBC5.com reports the annual meeting is where hospitals present their budgets for the next fiscal year.
Green Mountain Care Board President Kevin Mullin says the board doesn’t plan on delaying approval for the medical center’s budget.
The hospital and the union have been in talks since March and most recently met over the weekend to mainly discuss informal proposals.
