Nebraska troopers seize marijuana, hash oil in traffic stop
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (AP) — The Nebraska State Patrol says troopers have seized more than 80 pounds of marijuana and about 5,000 vaping cartridges containing hash oil in three separate traffic stops on Interstate 80 in recent days.
The patrol says the first stop occurred Saturday afternoon near North Platte, when a vehicle search turned up the hash oil cartridges. The vehicle’s occupants, from New York and Connecticut, were arrested.
On Sunday, the stop of an SUV stopped on suspicion of speeding near Kimball turned up 26 pounds of marijuana in luggage. Two people, from California and New York, were arrested.
On Monday, another SUV was stopped near North Platte on suspicion of speeding. Troopers say a search of it turned up 55 packages of marijuana in the cargo area. The driver, from Illinois, was arrested.
