SCRANTON

A city man faces charges after police said he pointed a gun at another man Monday night and fired a round from the weapon into the ground during an argument.

Mark Boyko, 56, 314 W. Market St., Scranton, is charged with recklessly endangering another person and disorderly conduct after police responded to 1820 Wayne Ave. about 9:40 p.m. for the report of a shot fired. Officers talked to Boyko there, who told them he and Eric Frankowski got in an argument. When Frankowski approached him, he first pointed the weapon at him and then fired into the pavement, police said.

Boyko is held in Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday.
