V.F. To Buy Youthware Marketer H.H. Cutler
Undated (AP) _ V.F. Corp. has agreed to acquire H.H. Cutler Co., a manufacturer and marketer of children’s clothing, for approximately $160 million, the companies said Monday.
Wyomissing, Pa.-based V.F., which markets Wrangler, Jantzen and Vanity Fair apparel, said the purchase would increase its youthware sales by 50 percent. Cutler distributes Disney, Fisher-Price and Major League Sports brand names through its playwear and sleepwear divisions. The company had projected 1993 revenues of about $200 million.
Cutler employs 3,400 and will operate as a separate division of VF, with headquarters and operations remaining in Grand Rapids, Mich.
