Motor Enforcement Officer Charged

State police filed charges against a department motor carrier enforcement officer who allegedly solicited sex from a truck driver in exchange for leniency on violations. According to police, Robert Aigeldinger, 49, was part of a commercial vehicle inspection operation Thursday on Interstate 81 in Dorrance Twp. when the alleged incident occurred. He was charged with criminal coercion and official oppression, and was suspended without pay. Troopers are continuing the investigation. Aigeldinger, of Mountain Top, will be arraigned before Magisterial District Judge James Dixon, Hazle Twp. State police employ motor carrier enforcement officers to assist in enforcing commercial motor vehicle laws. The officers are not sworn in and do not carry firearms, according to state police. — STAFF REPORT
