Patrick Fishburn shoots 3-under 3rd round at Utah Championship
Patrick Fishburn shot just about as well as he has all tournament, but some golfers posted very low numbers to put Fishburn off the pace Saturday.
Fishburn, a Fremont High and BYU alumnus, shot a 3-under 68 in the third round of the Web.com Tour’s Utah Championship at Oakridge Country Club in Farmington.
After shooting 67s in the first two rounds, that puts him at 11-under for the tournament, tied for 30th but only two shots out of the top 15.
A top-25 finish would qualify Fishburn to play in the next Web.com Tour event. The Web.com Tour is the undercard series of the PGA Tour.
At the top of the leaderboard, American golfer Andres Gonzalez shot a round-best at 10-under 61, vaulting him to third place at 19-under for the tournament.
American Jim Knous was about as good, shooting a 62 to lead at 22-under.
Fishburn tees off his final round at 12:35 p.m. Sunday, paired with Mexican golfer Carlos Ortiz (also 11-under).
