LEGAL MARIJUANA-BANNER YEAR
PORTLAND, Ore. An Oregon Democratic congressman says 2018 was the year that the marijuana movement “crested.” U.S. Rep. Earl Blumenauer, who’s been working for decades to overturn the federal ban on pot says, “It’s clear that this is all coming to a head.” In 2018, California became the largest legal U.S. marketplace, U.S. drug regulators approved the first marijuana-based pharmaceutical to treat kids with a form of epilepsy and billions of investment dollars poured into cannabis companies. MISSING NATIVE WOMEN
YAKIMA, Wash.— A second Yakima County meeting on missing Native women in Washington has been announced for early 2019. The meetings are a result of Washington House Bill 2951, which requires the State Patrol to work with the Office of Indian Affairs and tribal leaders to determine how to increase reporting and investigation of missing Native American women.
