Home in which babies’ bodies found taken by town
BLACKSTONE, Mass. (AP) — The former site of a squalid home in Massachusetts in which the remains of three dead babies were found now belongs to the town.
The Milford Daily News (http://bit.ly/2d9Oej1 ) reports that according to registry of deeds records the town of Blackstone took the 2,326-square-foot lot for non-payment of more than $3,000 in taxes, interest and other fees.
The town already had a lien on the property after the owner failed to pay more than $46,000 for cleanup and demolition of the house.
The remains were found in September 2014. The home was infested with vermin and filled with soiled diapers, trash and animal carcasses. Four living children were found in the home.
The children’s mother faces two murder counts while the father is charged with child endangerment and other offenses.
