PUYALLUP, Wash. (AP) — Authorities say 21 men were arrested this week in western Washington state following an undercover sting operation targeting potential sexual predators.

KCPQ-TV reports the Washington State Patrol's Missing and Exploited Children Task Force launched a "Net Nanny" operation in rural Pierce County last month with officers posting and responding to online advertisements for sexual encounters.

Authorities say the men made contact with undercover officers and the online conversations moved to texting. The undercover officers set up meetings once the men indicated they were seeking sex with a child.

Troopers arrested the men after they arrived at the meeting location.

Pierce County prosecutors say all 21 men were charged with attempted rape of a child.
