Player of the week

Yose Quistiano, Southwest: senior, forward — Recorded back-to-back three-goal games as the Dragons defeated Eagle Pass Winn and Somerset to claim a share of the District 28-5A championship. She totaled six goals and an assist and accounted for half of her team’s 14 goals.

Game balls

Medina Valley’s Ellie Smith tallied five combined goals in wins vs. Floresville and Southside as the Panthers earned a share of the District 28-5A title. She had four goals and an assist in a 9-1 triumph over Southside.

Boerne’s Brianna Barrera totaled four assist as the Greyhounds blanked Fredericksburg 4-0 and captured their fifth straight district crown.

Churchill’s Marcella Leija netted four goals as the Chargers defeated Roosevelt 7-0 and clinched District 27-6A’s final playoff berth.
