Resident participates in Honor Flight with friend
Several months ago, local resident Dennis Miller, a Vietnam War veteran and a patient at Rainbow Hospice Care, was given the opportunity to go on an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., a trip he only ever dreamed of and was honored to participate in.
Miller was excited to share this experience with his childhood friend and fellow veteran, Ray. He and Ray grew up going to the same school and enlisted together. “We just wanted to help people,” Miller said.
Miller credits Emily, a social worker at Rainbow Hospice Care, for helping make the trip with Ray happen.
“The trip was amazing, the nurses that took care of me were fantastic, but the best part was coming home. Ray called everyone to greet us at the airport. I was not expecting that at all,” said Miller.
Rainbow Hospice Care is involved in the We Honor Veterans program and has received a three-star ranking.
