West Central adds corral for bike enthusiasts
Fort Wayne’s Historic West Central Neighborhood cut the ribbon Monday on a new bicycle corral at the intersection of Berry and Union streets downtown.
The bike corral cost $2,300 and can hold up to 18 bicycles, Tyler Bowers, marketing chair for the Historic West Central Neighborhood said.
“The bike corral was kind of a creation from a couple of our board members, who in personal travel have gone to bigger east and west coast cities, particularly Portland (Oregon), where you’ll see these bike corrals,” Bowers said, adding that the neighborhood hopes the corral will encourage more people to ride their bicycles around downtown Fort Wayne.
