Woman takes plea deal in murder case of 2 people shot dead
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — A West Virginia woman charged in the fatal shooting of two people has accepted a plea deal.
News outlets report 39-year-old Misty Ann Rucker pleaded guilty to felony accessory after the fact in a Kanawha County court on Monday. The deal was offered in exchange for cooperation with law enforcement in the case against Rucker’s ex-boyfriend, 42-year-old Bobby Gene Hall.
Hall is charged with offenses including first-degree murder in the February deaths of 55-year-old Timothy Jett and 38-year-old Audrey Short.
Rucker says she threw a gun out a car window that Hall gave her after meeting with Jett and Short. She’s scheduled for sentencing Dec. 6 and could spend up to five years in prison.
Hall goes to trial Nov. 13. News reports didn’t say if he has an attorney.
