Grays baseball: Gate City routs Hyrum to snap skid

The Gate City Grays snapped a season-long five-game losing streak Saturday, beating the Hyrum Hornets 13-2 in five innings on the road.

Gate City widened its lead from 6-1 to 13-1 with a seven-run fourth inning. KC Qualls led the offense, going 3 for 4 with three RBIs, two runs and a double. Hayden Foltz, Ethan Hunt and Dawson Keller added two singles each.

Chris Needham pitched the first four innings for the Grays, allowing one earned run on four hits with no walks and seven strikeouts.

The Grays (12-9, 10-7 Northern Utah League) host Providence on Wednesday at Halliwell Park.
