Angels’ Erstad Pulls Hamstring
CLEVELAND (AP) _ Darin Erstad left Anaheim’s game against Cleveland Wednesday night with what appeared to be another left hamstring injury.
Erstad, who was on the disabled list from Aug. 4-19 with a strained left hamstring, lined a two-run single down the left field line in the first inning against Bartolo Colon. He pulled up after rounding first base and limped back to the bag holding the back of his left leg.
There was no immediate word on the seriousness of the injury. Erstad was replaced by pinch-runner Chris Pritchett, who stayed in the game at first base.
Erstad, the Angels’ No. 3 hitter, is batting .303 with 19 homers and 79 RBIs. He didn’t miss a game this season until Aug. 4, one day after straining his left hamstring on an infield single _ also against the Indians.
